I have room on a slab that I need to run a gas line for a fireplace.

Make sure you get a permit for the work you are doing. Get the necessary inspections after you do the work, to make sure it's done per code. You may want to consult with a licensed plumber, It may actually be cheaper than to do it yourself. This is my advice. By the way, you may need to channel out the slab to install that gas line. Good Luck.
