I am from Virginia and a friend and I wanted to drive to New York City and stay with a friend for a few days in December. We decided we wanted to drive because our friend who lives in the city and her roommate would ride back with us to Virginia for the Holidays and we would split gas, which would be very cheap.

Parking is the issue. I have done some research and Metropark seems like a good option. We could park our car at Metropark for like 5 days and ride the train into the city and then comeback and get our car from Metropark after the 5 days.

I am not familiar at all with Metropark and I wanted some local opinons to see if they was a good, feasible idea.

First, is it allowed to leave you car at Metropark for multiple days? And is it safe? Also, does anyone know how much it costs per day to park? (I have seen a few different numbers around the internet)

If anyone has any opinons or suggestions I would greatly appreciate them!

Oh, and one more thing. I am not sure what time we would arrive a Metropark, probably mid-day. Would there still be daily parking avaliable?

Thank you so much!

There's almost always daily parking available at Metropark- the only time the deck fills up is when it snows and the whole world takes the train into NYC. You can definitely park their for extended periods, and last I checked the rate was $6/day. When you park, you go to the machine and enter the space number, and feed in enough $$ to cover the length of time you plan on being there. I don't know if there's a maximum time limit, but if there is, I can't imagine that 5 days would exceed it.

I think they did away with the space numbers now. Theres a machine as soon as you enter the garage. Click the link for more info and a phone number.
