Our governor appoints our attorney general. Many states elect their attorney general. I also think that Corzine got to appoint our chief justice in our Supreme Court.

Who would investigate Corzine without having a Conflict of Interest?

Political corruption in many cases is just a logical extension of everyday corruption, and when people are soft, weak, and comfortable, corruption finds room to grow. Weeding out corruption takes considerable sobriety about one's own faults, but nowadays society likes to flatter itself.

Because they keep getting voted in no matter what they do ? They should get one term to demonstrate they are there to perform the will of the people.....if they don't....vote them out and give the next guy a shot.....eventually they will get the idea and start to clean things up and do what we voted them in to do !!!!

We can also have one term limits. Some of these politicians stay in office for decades.

Come on folks, wake up and pay attention. This is NJ the rules are not written by the politicians. Others make them offers they can't refuse and they follow those rules. Just like anybody else would do if in those positions.
Do you think the producers of the Sopranos just chose NJ because they liked the scenery?

No honor among thieves.

Plus they made the rules, so while some of what they do might be unethical, it is not illegal.
