In Northern, NJ my sister's five year old roof is leaking, due to the driving rain. Worst yet, it is leaking through a recessed ceiling light. I told her not to turn the lights on, and to get a contractor in ASAP.
Would the predicted snow have been worse....?

Pouring rain here in Somerset County.

My brother just called to ask what he should do with his electrical panel that has water running out of it.

Brand spanking new home (2 years old) ...already had the panel replaced once and on the developer's dime.

Hopefully he listened to my husband who told him not to touch it....just mop up the water in the laundry room as it's pouring in. PSE&G was on the way over so hopefully they'll have it all figured out and not turn off the power to his house so his sump pumps can't run and his basement floods. Not to mention he'd have no power!

My sumps haven't turned on. I live on the "other side of the street" in my neighborhood where we don't flood out. The majority of my neighbors pumps have been running since this afternoon ...and dumping the water out onto the street....which I hate when it freezes up. Hopefully it won't get to freezing tonight.

Was kinda hoping for snow!

Oh my goodness, got caught in the worst kind of downpour walking my dog this afternoon. It was raining slightly when we first left, and then...BAM! The skies just opened up and let loose upon us. We were both soaked to the skin by the time we arrived home. BTW, we're in Cape May County.

woke up at 2am and heard the rain just pouring down. it was crazy,i've never seen or heard it rain like that. no leaks in roof. but my basement has a little water in in. i have a very old home 1930's. a couple of years ago in this rain my basement would have had 3 inches of water in it. we regraded around house. i know we have to put in that trenching system around house but cannot afford it. well its 7 am here and its quite.

Unhappy Aftermath-Aftermess

yuck-this morning we opened the garage door to a wet paper mess. It looked like a recycling bin monster vomited all over the lawn and driveway. LOL

I guess I'll be the one out there picking it up

and all I could think was...we don't eat Nilla Wafers (not my garbage)
I don't get a newspaper delivered (not mine again), plastic red cups (nuh ahh)

but I'll clean it up. It's my planet too & I am the Queen.
