We were planning to move to TN, just outside Nashville, until recently, but hubby needs to be near NYC right now and that's fine with me.
TN property taxes, rolling hills and relative low cost of living seemed very appealing, but I love the cold and the snow (don't care if I never see the ocean again). He loves warm weather and wants to be able to go to the shore occasionally.
Maybe someday we'll find our little niche with low taxes and weather we both love, but until then NJ has been good to us and has something for both.
Right now we're thankful we have no tornadoes or earthquakes and very little flooding or forest fires (can't remember the last hurricane). Neighbors are lovely, food is great and we're within driving distance of NYC and DC - life is good.
So you dredged up a nearly 2 1/2 year old thread to tell us?
ASAP isn't fast enough.......
Actually, I didn;t realize before I posted that it was so old- it was "suggested" to me after I posted in another thread, so I clicked on it and threw in my 2 cents. Besides, what diff does it make if the topic is still relevant? It's not as if it was a thread about the 2008 election.

The place you are referring to is called Seattle. Drive 1.5hours west and you can go skiing, drive 3 hours east and you have a rainforest. Man I miss that place
