Try exit 14 or use Rt. 78 or even 22. I find it very easy to navigate to and around the airport.

Calm is all you need. You'll be fine.

That whole section of the Turnpike is confusing, especially for first timers. It's all loops and forks and split second decisions. It's like Choose Your Own Adventure. Fortunately, the Newark Airport area, including the roads around and inside the terminal, are all on Google Maps Streetview. It's a great tool for taking the edge off the unfamiliar. See:

I recommend AIRPARK - Airport Parking at Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark and I find it to be the least expensive. They have a 24 hour Valet service that takes you to the airport immediately after checking in. they are very close to the airport so the ride is only a minute or two and they have a bunch of shuttle Vans running constantly.

I am driving myself and will need to use long-term parking. The train is a solid option, but I'm driving four friends to the airport with me, so a good option, but not in this situation.

My biggest concern is navigating from the 13A exit to the parking lot...my sense of direction is NOT good...haha. But thank you all for your help!
I've always had a car pick me up and take me to the airport, but the last two times I went away, I drove myself. Turnpike to exit 14 and then look for the signs for long term parking. It is very clearly signed. Once you park, the bus makes a loop around the parking lot to take you to the terminal.

This is an old post but keep in mind that if you park in P6, it'll take 20 mins. to 1/2 hour to the terminals so allot your time accordingly.
