What towns in northern Jersey do you think there is a need for daycare??

My coworker and I have seriously been thinking of maybe opening something ourselves since we're both teachers. I see a lot of lower quality day care programs. Just wondering what towns would be worth investing in. Of course it would have to be a bit more of an affluent town.

Hi Raven-

I worked at two daycare centers from the time they opened and saw much success.

My biggest recommendations would be to find upper middle class communities near a train station.

One thing I would think about before starting a new business is that in this economy w/ so many people losing their jobs it will be harder to start out. If you have the time, patience and money for growth than it could be great.

Good luck!

I will stop short of recommending an area or town. I will only say that the govt red tape to open a daycare biz is so astronomical that many applicants just give up. Look into all the licenses and dozens of applications and approvals needed and the time it takes to get these items and then decide.

Goo luck though...........
