I am living in eastern PA and the local dealer is a rip off. I am looking for someone (indy shop, shade tree mechanic) that can help fix some minor LR problems. We are willing to drive up to 90 miles for an honest, fair deal.

Please let me know any tips you may have.

Thanks

There's a place on Rt. 57 in Stewartsville that specializes in 4x4's. I'll see if I can find their info. and post it.

Not sure if they do service or if they are strictly part sales? Maybe give them a call and see if they do and if they don't, see if they can recommend a local company?

I just had all four brakes done on my 2006 LR3. The dealer quoted me $1200, so I went to a local guy in Ironbound Newark and paid $350. He's a older Portugese guy, and has experience with European cars. Great price, and had it done the same day.

Default The Newark Shop

Hi, I just called Daniel, the mechanic in South St Newark and he said he no longer works on Land Rovers.

I would think that any Land Rover mechanic would be very good. I can't imagine a mechanic getting any more practice fixing broken cars than a Land Rover mechanic.

+1

Yup!
When somebody specializes in the vehicles with the absolute worst, bottom-of-the-barrel reliability (translation=anything badged as a Land Rover or a Range Rover), he clearly must get a lot of repair practice--as well as a huge income from the suckers who bought those infernal contraptions.

I use these guys on my BMW. They're located in Morristown. Two German guys. They've been working on my car since it went out of warranty. Much more reasonable price than dealer.
