Hello! I currently reside in Jacksonville, Fl and will be moving to NJ next month. I can live in any city I would like because I will be selling to the entire state of NJ and DE. That said, I need a locale that easily accessible to highways and where I can safely store my car.

I am a 23 year old single female and do not know anyone in NJ. Obviously safety is a priority but I want to have the opportunity to meet other single people when I am not working. I have been advised to look at places like Hoboken, Princeton and Morristown. I was also told to stay away from Newark and South Jersey area.

Any advice you can give on those cities (or maybe you think the list is horrible and i should look elsewhere) Please let me know!

Thanks!

How much are you looking to spend on rent? Will you spend more time in North pr South Jersey b/c Hoboken is very far from DE.

The thing is- I am not sure where I will spend most of my time yet. I cover all gov, education and hospitals.... Rent would be a cap of 1700 and I would like a 2 bedroom so I have an office area

I would suggest Somerset County. Towns like Bridgewater, Bedminster, Green Brook, and Basking Ridge. They are very nice places to live, though they are a bit less party central towns than a place like Hoboken. I know, some will tell you that's too expensive an area, but there are many benefits. It is Central NJ, so it's convenient to NYC, most of NJ, Philly, and highways to anywhere else you might want to go. Routes 78 & 287 cross here, and those two roads can get you anywhere. 78 goes east/West from NYC to PA, and 287 goes mostly North/South, from the northern edge of NJ down to the eastern edge right near the southern end of NYC, where you can get either the Garden State Parkeway or the NJ Turnpike to points south. It's half an hour farther south than Hoboken or Jersey City, so those tripe to DE will be a bit easier too. A quick search of my MLS finds 28 properties currently available for rent, with two bedrooms and rend no higher than $1,700 per month, in those towns.

If it turns out that you want a more social atmosphere more than the benefits offered by these towns, you might look at Madison, New Brunswick, and the Princeton area. These are all near colleges, and have more active social scenes than many other places. Not to mention some really good restaurants.
