They're not yet in my town, but it looks as though it won't be long. They're getting closer.

I like to look around in areas that I haven't visited as well as places I wouldn't dare walk around alone.

I've also found that it comes in handy when I'll be driving in an unfamiliar area and need a landmark for a turn. It's a lot easier to spot a store than a street sign.

I use google street ALL the time. I started using it when it first came out and, like you, have been addicted ever since. I try to use it to get a feel for an area before even visiting it. I remember in the beginning when they only had New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Pittsburgh. You ever see the car with the camera on it that takes the pictures? It looks like a storm chasers car.

Is that How they take the pictures? With a Camera on a Car? Me and My brother just found this a few weeks ago while he was in NJ Visiting and we promptly went looking at every address we ever lived, he showed me his school and house in Australia and we tried to see my dads house in Texas, But we couldn't get that yet.
It's pretty neat! Does anyone know if they update the pics??

haha, I thought I was the only one who looked at street view. its pretty cool, but I feel like such a creeper every time I'm on it, haha. i think it's a nice feature to use, if you want to check out an area to see what it looks like and determine whether or not its a nice area. but of course, its no substitute for first-hand experience.

recently i made a trek up to Lyndhurst from Florham Park, and I wanted to avoid the parkway. i used google maps to find an alternate route and i used street view to help me see what the scenery around me would look like, so I wouldn't get lost. i have a photographic memory so it actually helped me out a lot.
