Anyone have any recommendations for a place that gives swimming lessons for little kids (2 years old)? Of course, my wife would be going there with him. I'm looking for some place where they can do starting now, so indoors obviously.

Preferably somewhere in Essex or Union county.

Thanks!

Berkley swim school that operates out of the Brookdale CC in Florham Park or Kristie's school of swim at Funplex in east hanover

YMCA is a good choice and the price is reasonable. Livingston or Five Points in Union - both good for a 2yo.

My sister started my niece out at classes in a hotel in the Mendham area. It was considerably more expensive but worked out well for the timid child who was very fearful. I think it was one on one and the pool was heated.

I have another niece who learned in a YMCA and loved that too.

Montclair Y is great, and so is the Community Center in Caldwell.

NJ Swim operates out of Brookdale Country Club in FLorham Park (not Berkeley Swim Schoo). Have heard GREAT things about NJ swim, esp for this age group. Warm water, great teachers 3:1 ratio, but expensive. They have a website, probably njswim.com.

Berkeley Aquatic Club Swim School is in Berkeley Heights - You have to be 4yo, and parents cannot watch. They are strict but have a good program, best for pre-competitive, and less gentle with the younger ones. I also think water may be cold there.

All the YMCA's have good classes for this age group.
