I saw a house on the market online and decided to take a look. My realtor called the listing realtor and told her that his clients would like to see it. She was really excited about it and she then told my realtor that its a "short sale" home. But it doesn't list as a short sale. And I've tried to find any information i can on it but no luck. If it is a short sale shouldn't they have stated it in the listng????

How can I find out if it really is a short sale? I just don't want to waste my time if it is because I'm reading so much on this forum on how long it takes to even get an answer and I don't want to stress over it.

Thanks

Short sales don't have to take a long time. My suggestion is to take a look at the home, then decide if it is something you would be interested in.

It depends on the MLS service that the house is listed with.

The Garden State MLS is the largest in the state. GSMLS requires that it be stated in the listing if it is a short sale.

I can't comment on other MLSs.

However, if the listing agent states it's a short sale, figure it is!
