It's def. worth it to have an inground pool in NJ--the summer is fairly long. My brother loves his, they're in it from May 15-thru. Sept.

We live in Mass and would never get one here--the season is too short (July and August).

I worked in a pool supply store and Ive got to tell you it made me want to never ever EVER have a pool. Everyone would just come in complaining about what a hassle it is to have a pool and bla bla bla. And from selling all the chemicals to people i can tell you its very expensive and if you have one little problem with the pool it can cost alot of money.

We had a pool when we lived in California and I miss it/and DO NOT miss having one if that makes any sense.

You never see above ground pools in California. (Well, I never did).

I ALWAYS wanted an inground pool and we bought our house based on that.

We lived there 4 years and we used it some of the time but not often enough. It was great when we had people visit but the $$$$ was insane and it was just not worth it.

When we first moved here (wow...almost a yr. now), we specifically said we would NOT look at homes with pools. We learned! Just my 2c.

I think it depends where in NJ. IN Manalapan, a pool was an asset in selling a home.
When I bought this home, I said no pool. I'll go swiming at my sons Apt Complex, no charge.
