We are thinking about moving our bilco doors to the other side of the basement so we can extend our bathroom & closet space. Does anyone know the round about price in having new bilco door installed? They would have to dig where the new stairs will be going and we wil have to purchase new bilco doors. Thanks

The cost of a new Bilco door is about $800 for a basic one. Reblocking up the basement wall might be about $500-600. Digging the new hole you can use what is dug up and reuse for the backfill for the old hole to cover that one up. Digging the new hole, all the demo and masonry needed should be about $2500 give or take.

I suspect you might be in for about $4000 maybe a tad more. Joe Schmoe the handyman might quote a lessor price but I can assure you that this is no job for Joe Schmoe.

$4,000 x 3 = $ 12,000 This is NJ. Use a qualified experienced contractor that is licensed in this state.

You're too much Wiley!

I wouldn't go there and start excavating, and moving soil, pouring footings, cutting block wall for peanuts. Maybe a handyman can do it for $4,000.

OMG - must just be too early in the morning for me. I really thought you were trying to give a name of a company and here I am thinking, I've heard these names before.
WOW - took me a few....great joke!
