Have you seen this---supermarkets and pharmacies are giving out free antibiotics to draw customers? So I have to ask: Did they do some demographic research and found their customer base is made up of sick people and/or hypochondriacs? It's for a limited time, and you have to have a valid prescription. So what percentage of customers does this really help?

Prescriptions for antibiotics are popular this time of year. I suppose they see it as a good way of getting customers in the door so they'll buy other stuff while they're there. I believe you have to be covered by an Rx plan so they're really only giving up their "co pays" and not the whole amount of the Rx. The insurance co's are still paying their part to the pharmacies.
