I never heard of it anyway. Is it a fairly new place? Most people stay away from eating in pubs cause they dont want to smell smoke.

You know that area is my old stompin grounds so Im real curious so next time I come up I can take my brother there.

I just did a quick check and it got some real bad ratings. YIKES!! But I love my seafood.
The upside Desertsun, is that it's very cheap, or at least it was when I lived down the block from there 10 years ago. I think steaks were 9 bucks the last time I ate there.

Awesome !!!

Ya know.....sometimes the old dives can have some of the best food.
Anyone been to Buds Hut in Avenel, Big Stoshes in Linden or places like that?

As for seafood we used to head for the Atlantic Highlands areas. The old Robert E Lee in at Morgans Creek was great until it burned down around 20 years ago.

Pub 199 is a neat place, we've enjoyed it but they did get some mixed reviews (rude staff) but maybe they weren't there whenever we went, LOL. Lots of animal heads on the walls incl. a giraffe, if I remember right ;-/

I don't think Bud's Hut is there anymore but I know many who enjoyed it.

Dick's Dock in Metuchen is also a great no frills but wonderful seafood place. The drawback is that is verrry slow.

LouCas in Edison is fabulous but am not sure if lobster is always on the menu. Always great food and great service.
Welcome To Loucas Restaurant
