I'm with the concensus here- Cici's sucks. Even down here in GA, where "real" pizza is hard to find, I'd rather eat my shoe than eat at Cici's. The chances of you doing well in Bayonne (or anywhere in NJ, for that matter) are pretty slim, IMO. Pizza Hut and Papa John's only do well because they deliver- people aren't going to drive over to Cici's to eat that stuff when they can get real pizza down the street.

Of course, I could be wrong, but it doesn't happen often....

do not bring cici's to new jersey. it would likely fail hard. theres so many pizza places around that serve high quality pizza. Cici's was one of the most disguisting meals i have ever eaten, no offense to you.

Original Poster...I don't think it would be wise to open up a mediocre pizza chain in Bayonne.

I think chain pizza places make a lot of money delivering late. a lot of the local places stop delivery at like 8 PM and close by 9. where Dominos is open until like 1 AM. Plus they spend hardly any money on ingredients.

lots of people eat late and dont want to go out of the house. Only way i could see this working is if you put it in a mall.

Cici's is sit down and carry out (with carryout catering as well), Salad bar, pasta and sauces, desserts included. There are usually a few TVs set up as well. Think family, quick meal after sports prcatice etc. There is also a small game/arcade room toward the back of the store as well to keep kids occupied.

Thanks for all the input. I will take it into consideration. I know it is not going to really compete for local pizzeria patrons because it is more about the buffet and less about the pizza.

I agree with the mall idea. If you have a captive audience they will eat most anything. Most mall food courts have awful food.

i'm sorry but there is just no friggin way that cici's pizza is any good. no way. too many good pizza spots in north jersey. please dont do that. but if you ventured next door to some less advataged parts of J.C., you may find alot of business due to your cheap prices. but still. cici's is feces.

yeah, this is a horrible idea. don't even bring in one of those horrible places into Jersey. I'm so sorry I had to say that, but it's to help you. It would be a huge business mistake. The only place in Jersey where that would even be remotely sucessful is somewhere near the PA border, like in Hunterdon County. I see places like that in Flemington. The other place you could try is somewhere in South Jersey, maybe around Jackson where Six Flags is. Anywhere that's "Pennsylvania-esque" places where you see like Wawa's and Papa John's, that's where you ought to be. Please not in bayonne.

I've never heard of cici's but for that kind of price I would take my wife and kids there for lunch and give it a try. Good luck!

I ate at the CiCi's in State College, PA, and I was really not very impressed, but then again with all of the great pizzerias here in the Scranton area I've become a true pizza connoisseur. I don't know how a mediocre chain pizza place would do in a town filled with some good mom-and-pop Italian places, but during a recession young families might find a place like CiCi's to be a good value and compromise the food taste for the quantity.
