I'm a 1st-time home buyer in Jersey City. Looking for a local RE attorney. I have a couple of names but they're from my RE agent. I'd prefer to get feedback from actual clients.
Has anyone worked with Bruce Lerner or Daniel D'Alessandro?
Also, if you hated your attorney or had a deal-breaker (not what we want) please pm/dm me names.
A real estate agent is likely to point you towards a lawyer who is not a "deal-breaker".
However, be careful what you wish for. A good, experienced buyer's attorney may find things you aren't looking for that will save you post-closing headaches and out-of-pocket expenses.
Generally, attorneys suggested by the Realtors would be knowledgable and seasoned -able to separate important, meaningful, long range affecting issues from "leads you nowhere" issues. And their expertise is needed most at the "attorney review" stage so that potential headaches near the settlement time are almost non-existent.
Some so called good but unseasoned attorneys will try to impress you with false protection they are offering which is already integral part of the standard Realtor agreement.
You don't want a good but not well tested surgeon but the one who has performed hundreds of them to know the potential problems before they are apparent to the surgical resident doctors helping him in the OR.
