COUNTY PARKS in NJ (Bayonne, Union: home, horseback, trees)

Well today I went to Bayonne county park and was VERY IMPRESSED with it. It sits right on the waterway and has a long boardwalk along the waterfront that leads through a marshland area with various wildlife. You get great views of the water with the massive turnpike + old central railroad bridges in the background and seen the occasion tanker ship going by and you get a nice sunset to boot! REAL NICE and a plaque said it was built in 1915 with big improvements a few yrs back. Also has like 4 baseball fields, soccer, basketball, a track and up top closer to street level lots of trees with benches etc etc.

Closer to my home in Union County I've really been enjoying WARRIANCO County Park in elizabeth/roselle especially these past couple years.

I was thinking how those parks are 2 ABSOLUTE GEMS in the state's county park system and would like to find out about other COUNTY PARKS across the state and even make it a point of visiting some others if they sound worth it. Please tell me about any great ones you know about, thanks

The Tourne is nice. Nice hiking trail to the top of the Tourne with picnic tables, and if the air is clear, a view of the city.

I love Watchung, NJ
hiking trails, horseback riding, Trailside nature center, (free)
Feltville (free)

Nomahegan Park in Cranford is gorgeous, with the rahway river winding through it (and the town). They also hold the Union County music fest in it I believe.
