well, I'm actually surprised. A lot of die hard Dems I know outright refuse to vote for him right now.
I don't believe it really matters with respect to party affiliation. Governors in the past and present regardless of party affiliation who have gone to Trenton with the best of intentions; find out quickly how nearly impossible it is to get anything done without working with powerful party bosses in different regions of the state. That is the real issue. The underlying problems in NJ come from local corruption, which is so embedded that it's nearly impossible for one man or woman to fix. I know this sounds negative; but I've seen this movie so many times over the years. There is a reason why NJ is the butt of jokes around the nation with respect to the corruption that makes this state so dysfunctional. I don't pretend to have any answers to these problems, but I know I'm leaving NJ when I retire. Anyway, that is my rant for the day. Good luck. Just don't expect much of anything different with a new governor.
Someone, anyone, has to control and devise a different way of living in this state without charging people 8-30K in property taxes.
if the tax situation doesn't get better in the next 4 years, you'll see more and more people vote with their feet rather than vote on election day. It always happens. If you can move nearby to PA or DE and not get taxed to death, you'll more and more people vote with their feet. Not surprisingly, the state put forth an exit tax a few years ago to rob you on the way out. Don't be surprised if it gets bigger in the near future. Btw...China used to set up military around Hong Kong to try to prevent people from exiting China into Hong Kong in search of freedom. You know...it's nice to put things into a historical perspective just to realize how tyranical all forms of government have become in this country.

this is how mass hysteria gets perpetuated. there is no such thing as an exit tax.
To be honest, both of them aren't great options. I'd rather have Lonegan, though. He's a bit more conservative on social issues, and definitely more fiscally sound.
In these tough times a Business professional is what is needed, not a Lawyer.
isn't Corzine a business professional ?
