That area is okay. Taxes are very high in East Orange, NJ. Consider the townhouses in Woodland less than a mile away. That area is very nice and quiet. The only disadvantage is it's across from the high school. However, your home is facing inside the community and not the street.

I myself lived in east orange, and Iam not built for it I like to have fun and have a smooth day.I would not recommend moving to east orange you will see what I mean when you get there. You will want to do all your shopping ,clubbing just plan old going out in other areas. I'ts no Camden or Newark but........... it is not diverse and yes i myself have not been robbed , raped and my parents house was not ever broken into. I would just some it up as East Orange being a Gloomy not so happy place. On my 18th birthday right after my party I left and haven't been back since. If some one bought me a mansion I could live in for free in east orange I still would not live there that is how serious I am.

The only thing I see up and coming are the taxes. I've lived here close to four years now. I haven't seen much improve over the past 4 years and my taxes continue to increase. My neighborhood is relatively quiet and nice, but I don't really see any benefits that I'm receiving from the city itself. The water is not good, many unsold homes, etc. I really believed the homeowners are being taken advantage of when it comes to taxes especially those who purchased within the last 5 yeras. Maybe you can get a good price, but stick to presidential or woodland section

I have lived in OE for 29 years and it is berautiful and everyone is friendly . The thing i like the most in OE is that you can let your kids go outside and not have to worry you should come to visit

That's absolutely silly. I've never known a criminal to blatantly reveal himself that way for no reason. Thugs don't show off guns in real life. In real life they rob, rape and sell illegal products. To jokingly insinuate that the East Orange resident who is attempting to help erica178 make an important decision may be "part of the problem" is immature at best. erica178, I also have an interest in East Orange and although it is not very diverse (it's a chocolate city) the police have been extremely successful in combating crime. I've noticed a huge positive difference in the city as a whole in the last 2 years. Nobi, I'll believe your statements when you can construct a sentence as well as wassup.

I hope where ever you go there are no black people around because you are sad... every black person isn't out to rob white people.. it's every white person out to rob a black person ..but in more secretive and evil ways.. don't blame the man that was oppressed for years who is just now understanding how to maintain a better life than the generation before.....blame the man who oppressed a people.. and I just don't mean black people ... all people of color...Latinos .. Asians.... Middle Eastern... Native American.. the list goes on!!!
