I think Rowan is pretty decent choice for South Jersey. Some prefer it to Rutgers Camden, as the affordable 4 year college that is commuting distance for those south of Trenton. They also have a lot of majors and even started an online MBA.

We were favorably impressed with Ramapo when we were looking at schools for my Daughter. She eventually chose Rider because she liked the program better for her field of study. We thought Ramapo had a very good academic reputation, the campus seemed safe and very pretty. Alcohol is not permitted on campus, this is not a party school. The buildings were well kept and the dorms were very nice. The campus is isolated which has good and bad points. There are no distractions or public roads running through it like Rowan. There are no nearby towns so any recreation off campus would require having a car.

Ramapo college is 5 minutes from Suffern NY which has a bunch of bars that the students frequent. Not that that is a bad thing... Just saying that it really isnt isolated at all.

I would say Montclair. It is a bigger school then most and has more of a college atmosphere and is very good academically.

If you have a car nothing in Jersey is isolated. I was referring to the fact that it is not in easy walking distance to a town or many conveniences. There was a nice restaurant not far from the entrance to the school.

I'd say College of NJ. If you are a science nerd, NJIT.. it really depends.
