I been on 27 before and i think there was a long bottle neck 1 lane which I won't tolerate. But rt 18 and 95 doesnt sound like a good commute neither, I'll probably knock that Brunswick area off my list.

Don't knock the Turnpike. Seriously, when I was still in NJ, I had an office in Edison where I spent one day a week and I learned rather late that just taking the Turnpike to exit 11 and then taking the GSP north to exit 135 or 136 was far quicker than ANY of the other routes to Rahway. It was an honest 15 - 20 minute savings in time.
The trick is (try it sometimes!!) to exit the Turnpike at the GSP and taking that all the way to Rahway.
Man, this advice comes with a 100% money-back guarantee!! You will be pleased.

I'll try it, I'm concerned with traffic jams on the highways. But besides that highways are a better commute than local roads, not to mention wear on the car. To me it's a little scary knowing your work is 15,20+ miles away because then u have to worry about getting their late.
I'm considering between Old Bridge,Piscataway,Union triangle for relocation.
ha. that would be my worse case scenio because my job is a 20 minute walk from the station. I'd have to get razor or learn to skateboard skateboard before I would consider that
Coming from down south (W. Monmouth Co.), my wife and I (she works in Rahway, I drop my son off at daycare there) almost never hit traffic coming up the Turnpike. I get off at Exit 10, take 287 to Route 9 north, and then take 1/9 all the way into Rahway. We've been doing it for about a month since we moved, and I don't think we've hit any significant traffic yet. We'd probably take Route 1 in if it weren't for all the construction.
A lot of people leave their car parked at the train station so they can drive to work if it's too far fromt he train. I have a a great apartment in downtown New Brunswick (2 minutes from the train) , but I have to move for work. If your looking let me know.
