Hello,

I have not lived in Jersey City in many, many years now, but when I did we went to the Animal Clinic & Hospital on West Side Avenue and I was very pleased with them. Reviews still seem positive.

Good luck!

EEE, did you have any billing issues with them? They tried to do all these unnecessary tests on our dog for no reason. We won't be returning to that place.

West side is near to me so I go to them. But, yes, they will prescribe everything and anything. Their bills are horrendous. However, I would really reccomend Petplan, as you can tweak the insurance to suit reimbursments, etc.

Hoboken/Uhm... Downtown JC Dude... lol ... It was YEARS ago... When I went I had a dog and I was in the "cat rescue" thing. Not officially, but on my own. I would find strays, get them all healthy and get them homes. At that time they were very reasonable w/ me. But again, it was many moons ago and they knew these were strays I was helping, so maybe they went easy on me. They got excellent care though.

PETPLAN - Gessa...do you have more info?

Never ever ever ever go to jersey city animal in jersey city..they practically killed my dog..when i got him out of there i had to take him to a real animal hospital in oradell nj and they informed me that my dog was dehydrated and was bleeding from his rectum..i took them to court and the judge laughed and dismissed the charges. Horrible horrible nightmare experience and of course i was billed $400 from each vet. Not to mention all the emotional distress that was involved. My dog was never the same mentally or physically after i went to the jersey city animal hospital.

The Animal Hospital in Oradell seems to me to be more for profit then caring for Animals.

They are a very competent operation. But if you want 24/7/365 care and every new technological advancement, you will pay for it.

I use Dr. McMahon at the Nutley Animal Hospital on Washington Ave., Nutley for over 25 years. They are the best. It's only a short ride from JC.
