My question is direct and to the point. I am looking to move to NJ and am interested in Chatham. I like Chatham and my wife likes Summit. She wants diversity and more specific Jewish families. Our family is a mixed religious family. I was raised Catholic and she was raised Jewish.
Are there any Jewish families in Chatham NJ ???????
If so, how many?
Obviously these questions could only be answered by someone who lives there or someone who knows someone who lives there and even then not everybody reveals their beliefs.

Both towns should be comfortable for either one of you, they have services (synogogues, churches, schools etc) for both Catholic and Jewish families and there are a fair number of interfaith families so you should be able to find a happy medium. The whole area actually - Livingston, West Orange and over to Maplewood, West Caldwell, and west to Randolph had a pretty large and varied Jewish community and the large Italian population of NJ is Catholic so you should be able to find whatever you need to fit your budget and religious needs.

This thread reminded me of the anti-Semitic graffiti that happened in the high school in the early 90s, which was a HUGE deal and closed school for at least a day. If I recall, it had something to do with a sports (boys' soccer I think?) rivalry with Millburn.
OP, if you are very concerned about a large Jewish population, you should pick Millburn, Livingston, or Summit over Chatham.
