Maybe it's just because I grew up in the city, but WHY do folks in the 'burbs really think that little contraption called A LOCK on your DOOR is such a difficult device to use??????

Another example....

If someone wants to get into your home, no lock will keep them out. BTW, apparently the dogs didn't deter him either.

It's second nature for me to lock doors whenever I leave the house/car. During my time out in the Midwest, I couldn't get over the fact that people never locked their doors. During the winter evenings in N. Dakota, people would leave their cars running when they were at the mall, supermarket, or movie theater. The concept caught on with me after my engine had trouble turning one particularly chilly night.

IF they are professionals or unaffraid of being hurt themselves, you're right... but does it HURT to lock a door? And apparently these folks called police 5x about a suspicious man on their property... SO LOCK YOUR DOOR....

Trust me. We had a break in attempt a few months back. Had I not had both locks on my door we would have HAD a break in (one lock was broken by the would be intruder, the other was not...I heard the noise and called police....happy ending.)

This is why everyone should have a gun in their home and a proper contigency plan. Setup your defensive position behind a chokepoint, I prefer waiting for them on the second floor near the top of the stairs. Think about all the tax money we wouldn't be wasting on cops if every law abiding citizen was armed.
