Our family will soon be relocating from Seattle to the Princeton area. We are expecting our third child. We are looking to live in either Pennington, Hopewell, or Newtown (PA). Can anyone recommend a good obstetrician in the area? Also, we are searching for an excellent preschool for our 3-year old--any recommendations as well? Thanks!
Arguably the best in the area is Dr. Shapiro in West Windsor, however, you need to have a thick skin. He's not a nice guy is the easiest way I can put it. He delivered our two kids and I trust him completely.
It really depends on the kind of birth you plan. Are you planning a drug free delivery? Or do you want an epidural? Or do you need to plan a c-section?
Dr. Allison Petraske and Dr. Gross are very good. They sit in the University medical center complex of Princeton on Witherspoon st. Both the staff and the doctors are very good.
I would recommend the Princeton Healthcare System on North Harrison street..# is 609-924-9300 & ask for OB/GYN...I use Dr. Robert Martin...I've been with him for almost 20 years and after 5 pg's....3 babies & 2 miscarriages, I wouldn't go anywhere else...he is a wonderful, caring doctor..the others that I would see & have had are Dr. Debbie Baseman and Dr. Jeffrey Chait....have had all of them and they are just wonderful! Good Luck!
Opps, I also wanted to mention for peds.....Princeton Nassau Pediatrics #609-924-5510...there is a website if you goggle the name..lots of dr's...sick & well waiting rooms, great dr's, we have been there over 8 years...I also have 3 kids and am very happy with the practice...I have only heard good things about Nassau Nursery School in Princeton.....Good luck!
