This will def have an impact on white owned businesses in NJ. I don't understand. When I shop, I shop for price, quality and/or convenience. Who cares what the color of the owner is.

Without a doubt, these people are racists and please don't give me what they went through years ago. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

ATLANTA — It's been two months since 2-year-old Cori pulled the gold stud from her left earlobe, and the piercing is threatening to close as her mother, Maggie Anderson, hunts for a replacement.

It's not that the earring was all that rare — but finding the right store has become a quest of Quixotic proportions.

Maggie and John Anderson of Chicago vowed four months ago that for one year, they would try to patronize only black-owned businesses.

The "Empowerment Experiment" is the reason John had to suffer for hours with a stomach ache and Maggie no longer gets that brand-name lather when she washes her hair. A grocery trip is a 14-mile odyssey.

12 hours, 50 views and not one comment.

And I thought people here had the conviction to talk about what's right and wrong.

Looks like I was wrong.

I don't think anyone believes this will have any real effect at all. "Buy black" is going to quickly fall victim to "I need pants, have $X dollars, and this store is selling them for $X dollars. But a white guy owns it! Oh well, I need pants."

Non issue.

I thought all people were supposed to be treated equally. I don't think the organizers of this movement realize the more they single out black people for preferential treatment the more they divide.

I can only imagine the outrage if there was a "only buy white" movement.....

Exactly! Fearing an issue like this is similiar to Hitler's fear that the Jews would take over the world

I was thinking about only using businesses that are owned by dwarf dual-gendered aliens. Anyone want to join me? Absolutely ridiculous.

Ummmmm...riiiiiiiiiiiight...

Someone ought to tell the black guy in front of me in line this morning at Wawa. Or how about trying to find a black owned gas station in New Jersey? I think you'd probably run out of fuel trying to find one not owned by Indians. Wait a minute-are there any black owned oil companies? Please... If you can find one shred of evidence that this silliness extends beyond the two people mentioned in the article I'll kiss your ass and give you an hour to assemble a crowd beforehand. Fox News found two yo-yos to do a story about in order to scare people like you into thinking "OMG THERE'S A BLACK PRESIDENT SO NOW THEY'RE TAKING OVER!!!"

I think it is a great idea...............Think/shop locally it could help your neighbor.

I'd also like to add don't buy fruits and vegtables grown in other countries, shop your local farmers markets instead.
