A 45 minute train ride from Princeton Junction or Jersey Ave. (the nearest two stations to South Brunswick) is nothing more than a fantasy. Most days so-called "express" trains to MetroPark push 45 minutes.

As long as this non-sense is put on there, I'm going to correct it. All due respect, ride the train five days a week and then give those commute times with a straight face.

My husband and I have been living in Spotswood for a year and we love it. He commutes to lower Manhattan from the East Brunswick Transportation Center or the South Amboy train station, and I drive to work in West Windsor, so the location is ideal for us. The schools are very good here, although East Brunswick schools are better. We've lived in Plainsboro before; the NYC commute from Princeton Junction was horrible even with the express trains, although the West Windsor-Plainsboro school district is excellent. Your only option to commute from South Brunswick would be the park and ride on Rt 130. Good luck!

Another thing to keep in mind is parking is next to impossible at the Princeton Junction train station.

Very true. They have a LONG waiting list! I think it is currently over 3 years if I am not mistaken.

I currently live in East Brunswick w/my 3 young children. I love it here. Commuting really depends on where in NYC you're working. There's a coach usa bus that picks you up at Tices lane. It takes about 45 min. Someone I know used to take that bus & it dropped them off right in front of their building in the wall street area. Also, the schools here are wonderful as you know. It's a very safe and comfortable town for families. You can get something decent for $350-400 here. Before I moved here, people advised me not to b/c the schools were overcrowded. Well I must have lucked out b/c my son's classes were always smaller than the average classroom compared to other towns.
