I'm quite new here, but I found this one govt. site that may be useful.

You can get an estimate from historical data:

Federal Housing Finance Agency - HPI Calculator

Hope this helps!

lets put it this way, a new luxury condo in the best part of jc was at 390k 3 months ago, lowered to 350k 1 month ago, now at 300k and still no offer/buyer. Prices in the area you mentioned are coming down drasticially, started just in the last few months. I know this very well because i have been following the prices weekly trying to buy a unit, but just couldnt pull the trigger as the asking price gets lowered every few weeks.

it's funny how this is all working out, when the real estate market in the rest of the country is crashing (as it blasted across headline news), the good part of jersey city remained solid, some of the units even went up a little in asking price. Now as other parts are start to bottom and the headline changed to bottom is near, jc started to really come down in prices.

For me, think i will rather wait until the price start to go backup alittle before i jump, better to pay a little more off the bottom than catching a falling knife midway.

It will take them a while to come back up. Rates will come back up, which will flatten out prices even as inflation kicks in. You'll pay higher rates, but the longer you wait, the more you can put into the down payment.
