Well, back when I took the test the HS instructors instructed us to use hand signals in addition to the usual left and right turn signals. We all did this when we went for the road test, but I'm not sure you have to.
You know the drill, left hand out for a left, up for a right turn and down for a stop.
Of course you roll down the window first, lol.

Oh and make sure the car you're using is inspected, registered, insured, and doesn't have anything like a console between the driver and front passenger since the inspector is supposed to be able to apply the brakes if needed.

Yeah, definitely do this. You'll give the grader a funny story to tell his/her friends.

Really, back then everybody acted like it was a REQUIRED part of the test. I actually thought everybody had to do that.

Is the road you drive on still as narrow as when I took it? They got me on being too close to the stop sign. He thought I would take the door handle off. That's because I was trying to stay on my side of the road and not go over the line. Impossible in a Galaxie 500. LOL!

How did it go? I am taking the road test in Wayne in 2 months! I gotta work on my k-turns, though. I really do not want to have to take it multiple times because I have already waited 20 years to get this far...

Put your seatbelt on, and if your instructor does not - don't feel too shy to ask him or her to do the same! It may actually be part of your test!

I took the test in Lodi; pretty easy as it was a Closed-course road and all I had to do was parallel park and K-turn
