ok, I go to a gym 5 days a week, and have meet so many people on either xanax, an antidepressent, or a pain killer. Now I have a friend who drowns his sorrow in budwiser, and another friend who loves oxycontin.

My point is where are we learning our coping skills??? I have no choice but to cope with life due to past drug addiction but I am wondering is this the norm for so many people, just pop an antidepressant and /or a xanax? Ohh this is legal I forgot.

I was up at 5am, out for a hike from 7-9. Then came home and ran for another hour.

The thought of that alone makes me want to have a few Budweisers myself.

yes they are and this is not helping with their coping skills when a crisis hits. I see this all the time, they dont know how to deal with real stress. People are weak.

Too many GPs are prescribing these pills for their patients after exchanging a few words in the office. If your GP suggests them, you'll get much closer monitoring and a better diagnosis from a psychiatrist.

No pills or anything for that matter can fill the void or give us the peace and joy that only God can. We were made to love and to be loved and sadly there is very little love of God and neighbor in our culture these days. Selfishness/ self love does not lead to happiness, but thats all you see today. The real issues that are giving rise to drug use are spiritual in nature and cant be treated with drugs. I strongly recommend the book, "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. Only God can satisfy you unlike the false gods our culture worships. God bless you my dear friends.

my wife and I have never ever taken any sort of pain killers, anti dep drugs etc. You just cope with life and hit it head on.

No everyone is like that.. Some people are clean completely
