I am considering buying my first home is Ridgefield Park. I've been doing some research and found that the houses have really gone down in pricing in that area. Does anyone knows anything about Ridgefield Park? Is it a good place to buy as a starter home? What is the neighborhood like? I have a daughter that will start kindergarden this year and heard that the schools ( Elementary and Middle schools ) are pretty good. What is the difference btwn Ridgefield and Ridgefield Park?

Thanks for all the Help

Default Ridgefield Park/ Bergen County

Did you get any info on Ridgefield Park?
I am looking for a starter home under $300k in Bergen County. I have a 2 year old with plans for a 2nd so I want a good school system. I have done some research and found Teaneck has a low rating but Ridgefield Park has a very high rating. I know other towns like Tenafly and Cresskill have great schools but I think they are out of my price range. I want a good safe neighborhood and good schools.
ANY comments?
Desperate for more info.

I think we are in the same boat. We have 3 kids in all different age groups, HS, Middleschool & a 2 year old going to preschool. We've been looking in Teaneck as well, i posted to get some info on the town. I know the schools are pretty decent & the houses are nice for our price range. Tenafly school district is in the top 5, but between the price of the houses & the taxes it is out of our price range as well. Ladies please keep me posted on any other info you find & I will the same.

Ridgefield Park is pretty nice town, went to HS there...little town feel, Fireworks and best 4th July parade in NJ...my opinion...buy a home there, you'll like it! :-))
