I heard today about something that was passed yesterday. A credit of 3500-4500 if you junk an old gas guzzler and buy a new car. I'm pretty excited about it because my husband's old car is basically being held together with spit and duct tape.

Make sure you check out the details on this credit. I heard it wasn't that great and misleading.

I haven't seen extensive info but I believe the old car can be as old as 1984 and has to get 18mpg or less. In order to get the 4500 the new car has to get at least 10mpg more than the old one. I think as long as it's better mileage at all you can get the 3500. It doesn't start until Aug so we'll have to wait and see what kind of promos the dealers tie in with it. I think they have to be involved with the disposal. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hopefully we'll be able to swing it.

i got the rav4 when i was living in brooklyn. its about 2 feet shorter than my honda accord i had then. that was important for us because we both worked in places that we had to parallel park. its also a great drive and i love the visibility it has. i was so happy that after the lease i decided to purchase it primarily because i didnt think i could do better for the price.

after that year, they made the rav4 longer so its different now than mine.
