You said it. I don't live in Pt. Pleasant, but I live in the same county and it's amazing to see what's going on there. Basically there was a huge hospital right on the waterfront, and when the hospital closed the town bought the property. Half of it was sold to a developer and the other half is being made into a waterfront park. Granted, this is a town with miles of waterfront but hardly any access to it aside from private marinas.

Well, there is a group of town parents who are actually trying to fight AGAINST having the park unless it is totally dedicated to soccer fields for their youth programs to use! This is a town with several schools including a high school and two other huge town parks with fields. These people would rather block out everyone else's access to the water and hog this beautiful park location for their own use.

Just like you said, it's like the kids are running the town and the idiot parents are just sitting back and agreeing with them.

Most people's cares don't extend beyond the tip of their nose.
I wish there were goons in our squad!

Yea I get tired of some of these kids in the burbs trying to act like hardcore hoodlums and gangbangers. I saw a guy at the theatre the other day in East Hanover with overly gelled hair, fake diamond earings wearing a wife beater and a big cross tattoo on his arm get dropped off by his dad, who drove a Lexus, then he made sure his dad was gone and broke out a pack of Newports and started smoking. Probably about 20 years old. People like that make me not want to raise kids in jersey.
