My little girl is growing up and has moved out of her crib into her big girl bed......anyway, my wife & I are looking to donate her old crib. Does anyone have any suggestions as to who would take it? The crib is not assembled as I had to take it apart to get it out of her room. I know about Freecycle but I'd really like to give it to a family in need.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. We're in Central Jersey in Mercer County. Thanks.

Maybe try your county clerk - I'm sure there's a division that handles family services. I would give it to someone that's a foster parent, or someone looking to adopt a child in need.

That's such a nice thing to do, by the way.

Or contact a local Church, they can usually tell you of families in need.

And Kudos for doing a good deed!

There's a charity called Homefront in Lawrenceville that assists the working poor and homeless families get back on their feet, including providing them with needed furniture items. You can drop off or ask them for pick-up.

Homefront

The website should give you all the information you need.

I also know that a fire in New Brunswick destroyed the homes and all the belongings of several families there and they are looking for replacement furniture for them through Roosevelt school in New Brunswick. You could call the school for contact information.
