Just cut my lawn and was amazed at the variety of mushrooms growing all over the place. What's the best way to get rid of them?

They are damn near impossible to get rid of as long as it stays wet. They make fungicides, but they dont really work that well. The caps contain spores, so if you want to cut back on their spread, remove the caps and throw them in the garbage, as opposed to just knocking them down as most people do. If we get a week without any rain, they will disappear on their own until the next rainy season.

I actually got the true toad stools, the red capped 'rooms with the polka dots atop
( was awaiting the accompanying Gnomes to sit upon them, no luck.. )
I just mow them and leave them for the squirrels.

Those redcapped polka dot mushrooms are amanita muscaria, so if you see hallucinating squirrels, that's why.

Thankfully we don't have a ton of property - I pick them up individually w/ my dog's pooper scooper in the fenced-in area so they cant get to them, but it's discouraging b/c a few hours later there will be more out there!

Yeah have too many of them, thankfully the dog & cats have no interest in them but I have seen the squirrels chowing down on them
