Hi there-- I'm a graduate student looking for housing in the 700-950 range in the Princeton/Plainsboro area. I've been considering (from afar) a couple of complexes: Hunters Glen, Deer Creek, Ravens Crest, Kingston Terrace and the Orchard. Does anyone have feedback on these? Good or bad?
I only know the Plainsboro ones. I think Ravens Crest is the nicest one, then Deer Creek then Hunters Glen but really they are all the same, and they are all fine for apartment living. They are apartments, simple and basic. Ravens Crest has washer and dryers which is a plus. There is also Fox Run and I think you save money there because it is gas heat instead of electric, but I'm not sure what that is like now, although the location near the little downtown area is probably the best. Try to get a top floor so you don't feel like people are walking on your head. Good luck.
Oy. Yeah, maybe avoid Hunters Glen. I don't remember it being bad, but that was a while back.
Another idea is to try renting in Ravens Crest, in the condo side. Half of Ravens Crest is apt company, the other side is totally separate and is private owners/condos. Tamarron is another condominium complex that is private. Then you would have a landlord, rather than a mgt company, and they would be taken care of a bit better most likely. Look on Realtor.com
I can't seem to find *any* good reviews for any of the complexes, though, so I guess I have to take it all with a grain of salt. Thanks so much, again!

Yeah, that's the thing, it's rare for someone to go through the trouble of getting on the internet and posting a good review. Take it all with a grain of salt. Try the condos first, they tend to be better overall.
All of the apartment complexes are going to be about the same, they are all owned by two companies, Morgan Properties and Aimco. I've lived in Hunters Glen and it wasn't horrible, but I now live in Quail Ridge and I like it a lot better. They're updating all the apartments inside and out. It might be out of your price range, but I think the rates have come down recently. I don't know if you need to take the bus to get to school or the train station, but if so Fox Run is quite a hike to any stop, whereas the rest will be right on the bus route. Good luck!
Truckload of salt. Nobody bothers finding a web site to want about their good experience. But people who think they should be waited on hand and foot by service staff in their budget apartment will search such sites out to complain in.
I've stayed in nice, but not perfect, places that get bad reviews there.
I'd be more worried about places with good reviews, management drumming up business
