I heard a rumor that it was becoming a superwalmart? I'm curious if that's true. Anyone know?

once the WalMart in North Bergen opens (with it's 3.5% sales tax), the Secaucus WM is going to lose at least half of its clientele

That's great!!!! 2 Walmarts within less then 5 miles from of each other ,and don't forget the Target Store, Home Depot, and Lowes in between on Tonnele Avenue. It's urban sprawl from hell.

When is the one in North Bergen opening and where? Will it be a superwalmart?

I thought the one in Secaucus was already a Super Walmart? They have a supermarket inside it...I thought that was the criteria for if it was a "Super" Walmart or not.

Secaucus doesn't have a supermarket inside. While they have some food items they have no deli, produce or meat. When it was built the town still had a supermarket and to allow another in would violate the terms of the lease they held. Once gone there was nothing to stop the expansion.

A Super Walmart is one that has all the features of a supermarket plus the other items.

Ohhhh...got ya. I hardly ever go to Walmart and was mistaken. Anyways, the location in Secaucus is right next door to Sam's Club. Since both are owned by the same company, there might not be any rush to expand Walmart since Sam's has pretty much everything foodwise.

They are in the process of expanding the Walmart and it should be done soon. But the place is a zoo. I will travel to Clifton commons to grocery shop before attempting to try and buy anything from that location. weekends are the worst. Hopefully when the one in North bergen opens it will improve. The staff in the place is the worst. No one seems to know anything, even if you can find one.

Sam's is somewhat better but again avoid the weekends. when they built the two, parking seemed to be an afterthought as you can never find a parking spot.
