This organization, NJAMHAA, is a group that many NJ non-profit mental health companies belong to. NJAMHAA has an IT dept, and they often provide assistance/guidance/education to non-profit companies in the area. They may know of a non-profit company that needs someone to volunteer to to computer-related things. NJAMHAA is located right near Princeton, near Quakerbridge Mall. The mental health agencies they represent are all over NJ.

Here's their website.

Not a clue. But since the University is for-profit, I doubt it, unless they have a foundation set up separately.

Remember, only certain bona fide non-profits can have volunteer workers. If a for-profit company takes on a volunteer worker, they are in violation of several different employment laws. Some take a chance and do that anyway, but they always end up facing wage claims, worker's comp claims, wage & hour investigations, and penalties under wage & hour laws. Plus, they risk problems with the IRS. Most reputable companies will not violate these laws in order to get "free labor" from someone, even someone who is very willing.

Someone really wanting to do volunteer needs to make sure the company they work with is officially a non-profit under IRS rules.
