Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, all of em.

Am I the only one who could care less about Jacko? This guy was regarded as a freak and pedo for the last 20 years.

I think its a bit much that every single tv station is airing this garbage.

I second this notion.

The real icon that died recently (besides Fawcet) was Billy Mays. I'm a marketer and salesman and that guy is a god in my eyes. To think Fawcet, Mays and McMahon died recently and this clown gets all the attention

Twista: you don't seem to understand music ... caling Billy Mays, second fiddle McMahon more important than a singing legend (all your allegations about his non-singing performance notwithstanding) shows a certain lack of cultural appreciation.

Like Ninjahedge wrote it is time to work for most of us!!

Heh.

That is why I am posting so much!!

Although I agree there is WAY too much coverage of this (if it is live, and uninterrupted, you do not get any commercial time anyway, so what is the point of showingthe same thing? There may be SOME people out there that do not want to see this, who might want to know the weather, traffic, or who that drowned 2 year old was...)

As for teh second fiddles? I think the only one that comes close is Farah. Between Charlie's Angels, her modeling, and her dramatic career afterwards, as well as the battle with cancer, I think her life deserves more attension in the press.

But MJ was a freakishly popular POP IDOL. It is almost at the level of a NJ funeral for Bruce Springsteen!!!! (maybe on par with Bon Jovi, say the lead singer or two of the other band members...)

The thing I do not understand is the youth participation. Seeing all these beat up 35-45 year olds waiting in line in the rain to get into the Appolo theater is one thing, but unde 20? Hell, these kids were not around for the birth, and actual MUSIC era of MTV! I am wondering of those kids just see the hype and got hooked.

As for MJ himself? I think he was an exceptionally tallented freak. Flat out. I admire and loathe him. I think his father should be shot for what he drove him and his family to (and the fact that he was trying to sell his son's "collection" practically the day of his death).

I just wich that guy could have kept what he had with the 5 and matured with it, rather than refusing to let go of it in hopes that teh rest of his childhood would somehow be given back to him.

Ah well.

Work calls! (literally!)

I agree...ridiculous how overblown this has become. Whatever happened to him being brought up on pedophile charges? Maybe or maybe he wasn't a pedophile but you have to admit, something was not right with him there with what he did with little kids.

Yet no one remembers this? It feels like we're glorifying a pedophile.

Oh Lord, I just heard the City Of Los Angeles has put up a web site where MJ's fans can donate to defray the security expenses..in the millions..frankly if his family wanted this 3 ring freak show they should have to pay..not the taxpayers who will end up footing the bill

They were talking about this on the news this morning. The city of LA is so far in debt and now they have to pay for this extra security/police. They are going to have to take it from the emergency fund, which is usually reserved for earthquake situations.

Horrible...the promoter and the Jackson estate should be paying.
