i was looking for a house to rent and i must say i fell in love with south jersey. south jersey is in no way like north jersey. the people are more laid back. kinda has a southern feel to it though. it really surprised me.. i just wanted to know did all the people who moved out of state try south jersey esp. salem county, burlington and gloucester co. There may very well be a major pop. shift from north to south as i went to an open house and every one there was from bergen, hudson, and essex counties.

I agree with you. South Jersey is laid back compared to the northern part. The only problem though is that it is still New Jersey and the property taxes are still high in some areas. Depending on where in south Jersey you live, you could have trouble finding a job and from some parts, the commute to Philly could be really long. I've never been to Salem or gloucester county , but i do love Burlington County.

I have to agree, I am a North Jersey native and also love it, but absolutely love South Jersey.

My commute to Philly is about 10 min via the PATCO train.

As I recall, it snows in south Jersey just like it does in north Jersey.
Never would have considered it.

I haven't been to South NJ - but, simply based on the snow comment - I'll agree with you (since I can't rep you).

Yeah, we considered it, but there was this little issue of needing a real job that got in the way. Unless you want to schlep into Philly (which I wasn't about to do, just like I refused to travel into NYC for work), there wasn't a demand for my field, so it didn't work out. Especially as you get further from Philly, the prospects really start to thin out.
