I go to AC about 4 times a year and at least 2 or the times it is with Free Rooms. It is a great short trip away. We do concerts, shows, food, bars and gambling. We have been lucky enough not to lose too much and have even come home with some extra cash a few times.

more upscale crowd on the weekend and more lively. during the week the rooms are cheap and anyone with a red card can get their room comped during the week.

I don't know anyone who goes to AC exclusively for the shows, the food, or the hotel. They go to gamble -- and the other things are extras for non-gambling friends and family who go along.

AC had its best quarters financially after the 9/11 tragedy when gamblers didn't want to risk flying and instead descended on casinos to which they could drive instead. Clearly, the focus shifted to gaming since NJ first legalized casinos there.

my mom goes to gamble. i go with her for the hotel, food, shows, scene. i really dont get the enjoyment of gambling but im happy to benefit from my mothers gambling addiction.

it would be nice if atlantic city could upgrade itself to be more of a vacation destination so that it would be nicer during the week.

As a black cardholder with the Borgata since it opened, I can tell you that red cardholders can also get weekend rooms in the main casino comped pretty easily now thanks to the economy (although not at the Water Club).

As for the weekends -- I hate that the Borgata bars and adjacent gaming areas have become overrun on weekends by drunken twenty-somethings.

Security on the Borgata gaming floor and in the bars has really declined -- although it's still far better than that at the casinos on the Boardwalk.

yeah? the rate for saturday night is so expensive id think that would be tough to get for a red card holder. i stayed at a room at the water club one trip. it was smaller but fancier and the pools were full so i couldnt even use it. i make sure my mom doesnt stick me there again. i can live without the leather pillows and whatever else they use to make it nicer.

i enjoy the drunken twenty somethings. they come around all dressed like little sluts and they are off to get their asses grabbed in the clubs. its entertaining for me. id like to hang around when they are leaving for the real entertainment but thats past my bedtime.

Mostly I'll go to dinner then out to a bar/club for the night. Honestly, I find gambling a little on the boring side. Was never much for card games and slots are for grannies.
