I keep seeing Menendez on tv, talking about Sotomayor and saying that the GOP will regret not voting 100% for her. I really wonder what makes "Bob" such an authority on the hispanic community? What has he ever done for them? Maybe he should hire a Puerto Rican lawyer to defend all of his corruption charges.

Menendez has bashed Fidel Castro to appease his Cuban following.

Hispanics are the future of this country. Everyday in Bergen County I see more Hispanics than Blacks & Whites combined.

I doubt he's actually "done" anything for Hispanics or anyone else. The man is a complete joke, even stooping so low as to fabricate stories from his childhood to make himself look better during his campaign. Personally, I'm not a fan of any public official who makes such a big deal about his race - he seems to be forgetting that he represents ALL New Jerseyans, not just Hispanics.

It shouldn't be about "what he did for Hispanics," it should be about "what he did for his constituents, the residents (of all races and colors) of New Jersey."

Yesterday, when waxing poetic about Sonia, I liked when he said how when she was growing up in the Bronx, he was right across the river in a tenement in Union City...

Please, hand me a barf bag.

Like they're the first people who ever grew up in the Bronx or Union City.

Its pretty obvious that your statement is correct but.... the problem is when someone rises up to power they always take care of "their" people. You may not like it, it may not be fair but it is what it is. It stems from the mentality if you cant beat them join them. If you are Jewish,Italian,Asian,"Hispanic", or any other group you try to take care of your people.

I don't know, I think politicians are looking out for #1 mostly, no matter what their race or ethnicity.

He alerted the nation to that idiot Bush's plans to turn over the Newark/Elizabeth Port to Dubai at a time when we were (supposedly, if you believe the Bush administration) on "high alert" for terrorism from any such countries. He has also brought a lot of Federal funding to NJ for our infrastructure, including the port.

If you really want to know what he has done all you need to do is search a little.
