All,

We are moving to hunterdon in about a month. We want to have all the carpets cleaned..its about 2K sqf of carpeting in the house. Has anyone rented loews/Hdepot/Rug Doctor and had a +ive exp ? I dont think I can afford the $400 that professional cleaners want for this size. Its a 4 yr old carpet so is not that dirty.

Any advice is appreciated...thanks!

Honestly those things are pretty good. The one complaint is its tough to get the edges. If the carpets arent too bad this will do a great job on them. Since you rent them for the night, you can do a really really good job and take your time with them.

Default water free cleaning

I just removed my wall-to-wall carpeting and it was horrible under the padding!! All of those times that the carpet was cleaned with water pushed some of the dirt down into the subfloor. It was so bad, I had to replace most of the sub floor. I'll never have wall-to-wall carpeting again. You would be surprised how much dirt gets beyond the carpet/padding.

Look into dry cleaning carpets. (waterless cleaning)

I like Stanley Steemer. It's the only carpet cleaner that has really ever gotten my rugs truly clean. They use steam and it works. The before and after is amazing. I have to get my rugs cleaned often on the first floor and I always use them.

I don't like all of the chemicals in the dry cleaning type ones.
