lol, that is where I was trying to go with it. I've worked with some with masters that are more worthless than some with high school degree. They can't think outside the box and have to have procedures for everything that they do.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the way I see it is everyone that is using the cash for clunker program, already has enough credit to get a new car anyway, and probably would have in the next couple years. Now, because of the rebate, they just got them sooner, and we will have a drop in purchases at the time they normally would have bought them. The people who needed help, those who don't qualify for a loan on a car, can't make the payments anyway, let alone the insurance on a new vehicle are the ones really driving the clunkers!

I just read an article that said 4 out of 5 cars being sold are not from GM, Ford or Chrysler. So 80 percent of the vehicles being subsidized are not even from the big 3 from the USA. I guess the CEO's of Toyota,Honda and Nissan, Mitsubishi, etc. are laughing all the way to the Bank of Japan.

That's been happening in the last several years with Japanese and Hyundai grabbing market shares from the big 3 at will. Even my parents, who previously owned 4 GMs, brought a Honda this past year as they said they 'feel' the quality went down hill and they aren't getting the best bang for the buck.

This program is just another smack in the face to the 3 American car companies and ask them to wake the f#$% up.

Default "Broken Windows Everywhere"

IMO, this article regarding Cash-for-Clunkers in the August 7 issue of Casey's Daily Dispatch is very much on point:

Yes and No. The point is valid if the $ spent on one item were spent there instead of on another. If the choice is spend the $ on one item, or put eh $ to rest in savings, then the argument falls apart.

This was an extremely poorly planned program. If Obama/Congress can't get this right, why do you trust them with more control over health care?
