thank you for your reply and i have read the other threads..its just not making sense to me.

so if my regular benefits (26 wks) expires before December 31, 2009 then i will be eligible for an extension?

thats how i read what you wrote. If i'm wrong can you direct me to where i can go to understand this simply and clearly.

Im very scared right now, i live alone, no family and if i lose my apartment i will be on the streets...so any information you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated.

Unless the current legislation which originally granted the Tier I, Tier II, and EB extensions is amended --

(1) If you are still collecting your regular benefits on December 31, 2009, you will not be eligible for any extensions. Of course, you will be eligible to collect the remainder of your regular 26 weeks into 2010.

(2) If you are collecting benefits through one of the extensions (Tier I, Tier II, or EB) on December 31, 2009, you are eligible to collect for the remaining weeks in that extension into 2010. But you will not be eligible for any further extensions.

For example, if you start collecting benefits in Tier I before December 31, 2009, you will be eligible to collect the remainder of the weeks n the Tier I extension.

But you will not be able to collect benefits under the Tier II or EB extensions because they will have expired on December 31, 2009 -- and will no longer be available in January 2010.

thank you- that makes sense to me ..

This is how i understand it in my case:

my benefits will run out early December- therefore i missed the December 31, 2009 cut off and my extension will be in affect before December 31, 2009 so i will be able to collect remainder of my Tier 1 extension?

yes?

Have you considered using the direct mail function here when you have something to communicate to a single person -- particularly when it has absolutely nothing to do with the subject of this thread?
