Hi,

I just bought a certified Toyota at Prestige Toyota in Ramsey. I have to wait a few days for the check to clear.

Question: I know I paid for registration, but do dealerships give you a couple days of car insurance--in time to add it on to your policy?

Sorry it's been a while since purchasing. Thanks.

Thanks for your response. Did that cost extra? Sorry I tried to call the dealership, but once you buy a car they want nothing to do with you.

they didnt charge me any extra. it was some random insurance company and im pretty sure it was 2 weeks worth of coverage. i remember being impressed by how they set it up to make sure you can leave with a car immediately.

id be surprised if the salesman wouldnt be helpful to you. i also remember customer satisfaction surveys were very important and they need to be given the highest rating or it was bad for them. if they dont demonstrate excellent customer service to you, i wouldnt hesitate to let them know that their score will be impacted and/or you will talk to a manager. it works.

Thank you! I hope to get the same, especially considering I am in the middle of switching insurance companies from Liberty Mutual to NJ Manufacturer's. Half the price.

i never heard of that company. i have geico and i pay a little under 1700 a year for 2 cars. how much is the nj manufacturers gonna cost you?

i got a cell phone from ATT and even the kid in the store told me to call him before contacting customer service. i thought that was weird. then he mentioned that he needs a 5 rating on the survey.

New Jersey Manufacturer's Insurance is limited to people who live in NJ and PA who work for a manufacturing company that this insurance has an agreement with. It's legitimate.

With Liberty Mutual I was paying $1,100 a year for basic coverage on a 92 Accord. With NJ Manufacturer's I will pay the same amount for my 92 Accord plus the 2006 Camry I just purchased.

You've never heard of NJ Manufacturers?
Great company and usually cheapest.
It was the best thing I got in my divorce. He worked for a hospital that he qualified through.

A few years ago they let us hand cards to relatives; think it was some kind of special enrollment.
