There is a lot of construction going on right at Exit 8 off the NJ Turnpike. I think it might be the creation of a new ramp, since they are expanding the Turnpike there, but they have also repaved the roads on Route 33. Does anyone know what's going on there?

They are reconfiguring that whole interchange as part of the Widening from Exit 6 to 9.

At one time I-95 was proposed to be built in NJ as a toll free interstate, but then we already had the turnpike with its toll booths, etc. The turnpike used to end up North at US46 which would take you to the GWB. There was a stetch of I-95 built which extended the turnpike north and looped it around to the bridge, the other section came from FL & PA and looped into NJ, but the rest of I-95 got swept under the rug basically. The rest of I-95 comes up from Florida and makes it thru Philly and into NJ and then ends right where I-95 turns into I-295 and crosses US1 by Quaker Bridge or Bakers Basin between Princeton & Trenton.

So the idea is to connect the 2 sections using the PA Pike from Pennsy to the NJ Pike. PA has to build an interchange where I-276/future I-95 runs under the real I-95, Also a second bridge over the Del River is supposed to go up next to the existing one for one direction so they can widen it.

Default 'Between Princeton and Trenton' Adding Traffic to the Junctures There When PA Improves their Connection from 276 to 95

Ah--Lawrence Townshship!

Ouch! More traffic noise, congestion, stink and frantic energy passing through our town? (many bizaare instances of tailgating-- Options for driving like this are nil. Untenable! I promise to raise a forum on this later!)

Did I hear that someone foreward thinking is planning a series of beautifully thought out pedestrian/bike bridges and pathways to tie the parcels divided by the highways with very convenient pedestrian walkways? If this is true--I'm looking forward to using my bike and walking to do my shopping and having the benefits of exercise while I get around for my local biz. I've noticed I smile a lot more when I have been in motion. (what a lot of great business folks i meet on those days!)

Already we've got several bus shelters--I hope there are more in the works--before long so many more of us will be using the buses regularly. I expect that will lighten the load on the highway--many of us have been using 95 to get around traffic in town. Proposals are in for a light rail up and down the Route One corridor-- a brilliant way to make the morning and evening work run more relaxing!

The interstate traffic will be lighter once we get our local situation handled.

We need an opportunity to get around our town with ease!
