it's ridiculously easy. When I took the test, they had me drive around a closed course at 5mph. If you remember to come to a complete stop at the stop signs, signal when you turn, and drive on the right side of the road, you will pass.

I completely screwed up the parallel parking (I was maybe 3ft or so from the "kerb") and still passed.

The cones, at least when I took it, are REALLY far apart. It's like two car lengths.

Haha yeah, hands at 10 and 2, or whatever. I remember some people who failed on the parallel parking, but I didn't have a problem with it. I think they give you a pretty wide berth.

Jersey roadways are crazy--but if you're from Michigan, you don't have a problem. They probably look forward to giving you the license so they can charge a fee! I think you can fail one segment of it--so if you aren't good at parallel parking but you're good at the other stuff--you'll probably pass.
Remember--and awful lot of people in NJ have a license, yes? Don't worry! And welcome to NJ!
Besides, I'm moving!

they couldnt have made it any easier if they tried. my driving school guy actually had some trick with the parallel parking where you line up these holes in the car with the sticks from the cones. it actually worked so i never really learned to parallel park until i moved to brooklyn.
